A common sight along the roadsides during the summer, this might be the favorite flower of those imported from the Old World.  The yellow center contains true flowers, and the white 'petals' are actually rays, a common structure of plants in the aster family.

Grows in meadows, fields, roadsides, and shores of rivers, creeks, lakes.

Present throughout the state.
