Adventive Plants

Adventive plants are those that have arrived to a particular geographic area from a different region, but their population is not yet self-sustaining through reproduction and population numbers are only increased through re-introduction.  An adventive species may become naturalized with time and thus becomes integrated into the eco-system.  The largest source of adventive populations are cultivated plants that escape into neighboring environments.
