This species is endemic to the Appalachians (PA and WV) and the Cumberland Plateau (TN and KY). It was formerly considered to be M. grandiflora and has been determined to be its own species.
Habitat & Range
Rare on sandy and rocky stream banks.
Present in the south-west Fayette, Somerset & Allegheny Cos.
