Perennial herb that grows up to 6 feet tall, with hairless stem of light-green to light-purple color and nodding heads.  May branch towards the apex.  Leaves are of variable shape, lower leaves are usually 3 lobed, and upper leaves simple.

Occurs in woodlands.

Present throughout the state.
