Triodanis perfoliata Venus'-looking-glass


Clasping Venus'-looking-glass is a delicate herb in the bellflower family. It has slender, mostly erect stems that grow from 4 to 18 inches. Stems may branch close to the base, otherwise are unbranced. Small leaves (up to 1 inch) clasp the stem along most of its full length and are broadly ovate to heart- or kidney-shaped.
Habitat & Range
Occasional in open woods, wood edges, fields & roadsides. Prefers full sun to light shade and well-draining, loamy soil.

Phenology
Flowers late June to early August.
