Plant grows in the wild/spontaneously

Introduced from Europe and often cultivated, ragged-looking flowers of this plant form roadside patches from June to October.  Flowers are usually white, but can be pinkish, sometimes with double petals.  The leaves and stems are smooth. Leaves contain saponin which was used to make soap.

Grows in meadows, fields & waste ground.

Present throughout the state.
