Inflorescence 1 or 2 terminal, multi-flowered umbels
Flowers 5-parted crown: 5 downwardly reflexed white to pale pink petals supporting 5 white (or pinkish) incurved vertical horns sticking out from cylindrical hoods, shorter column(containing stamens and carpels) in the center
Leaves in whorls of 3 or 4 at middle nodes, smaller and fewer leaves above and below; lance-ovate; thin
Stems erect, unbranched, up to 2.5 feet long
Height 1 to 2.5 feet
