Osmorhiza sweet cicely

Sweet cecilies are herbaceous perennials growing up to 3 feet and blooming in May and June.  Their leaves are twice ternately compound with oval-ovate, toothed and lobed leaflets/subleaflets.  White clusters of flowers are arranged in compound umbels.  Fruits are flattened, linear to clavate schizocarps with base prolonged into a bristly tail.
