Tanacetum vulgare common tansy

Plant grows in the wild/spontaneously

A cultivated plant from Europe that escapes into the wild and spreads easily in man-disturbed habitats.  The plant has flat-topped clusters of golden buttons, which remind of those of the central disk of daisies.  The leaves are fern-like and have a strong scent, especially when rubbed.

Infrequent along roadsides, fields and pastures.

Present throughout the state.
