Lindera spicebush

Spicebushes are aromatic decidous shrubs with with alternate, simple, unlobed, entire leaves.  Flowers are dioecious (male and female flowers grow on separate plants), regular and small.  Six greenish-yellow sepals are fused at the base to form a floral cup (hypanthium). Male flowers have 9 stamens.  Fruit is a drupe.
