This small yellow wildflower is one of three sundrops in the genus, the other species of this genus are more often referred to as evening-primrose.  Flowers and leaves grow on the same stalk, flowers form clusters at the top.

Usually grows in dry soil in woods, along roadsides and fields.

Present throughout the state.
