Polystichum holly fern

Holly ferns are sturdy, mostly overwintering ferns.  Narrow fronds of these ferns emerge in bouquetlike clusters and have short, stout, and scaly stipes.  Pinnae are shiny, lustrous green, with bristle-toothed edges.
