Flowers blue, tubular; 2-lipped corolla; short, 2-lipped calyx
Leaves opposite in pairs; ovate-oblong to lanceolate; crenate-serrate; rounded to sub-cordate at base; up to 2 inches long
Stem pubescent on angles with recurved hairs
Fruit spherical, brown capsule with 4 nutlets; forms inside the calyx; each nutles has 2 ovules that may turn into seeds
