Agalinis

Agalinis agalinis

False foxgloves are hemiparasitic plants that attach to the roots of various woody and herbaceous hosts. They are simple or branched herbs, with leaves mostly linear, stalkless, opposite on the lower stem and becoming subopposite or alternate toward the upper portions. Flowers arise in the axils of the upper leaves or in short terminal racemes. The calyx is regular and five‑lobed; the corolla is slightly irregular, pink to purple, with five spreading lobes and four stamens.
